Hostage Load
Also known as: Held hostage
An illegal tactic in which a mover refuses to deliver your belongings until you pay charges far above the agreed price. Federal rules prohibit this; you can dispute charges, file an FMCSA complaint, and you are entitled to delivery upon paying 110% of a non-binding estimate.
